Sean, thank you. I just turned 63, moved to a new State 2 years ago after my wife of 20 years passed 4 years ago. I've never known such loneliness. The enemy has tried to capitalize on that loneliness but somehow God has been my "present refuge in time of need"...
Beautiful :) it warms my heart to read it. I have a 17 years old daughter and I have been struggling with our relationship more since she started driving and now she feels independent and I am grieving her need for me … I know I have to let her go and trust that everything will be good and put this in God’s hand and my faith.
It’s hard when our love comes out as worry, that’s experienced as control! If it’s any consolation, when there’s conflict with teenagers, it’s a necessary motivation for them to have the courage to detach and take the next step forward!
Wow wow wow. I would love to share this and a couple of blurbs in our next email newsletter: New Pathways abd highlight your article? This is the same message we share at The Abundant Catholic- freedom in Christ. That it is here. And for many of us (most of us!) we have to learn this new way, of how to rest in his love, in his goodness, in his faithfulness. Once we know Him, and know whose we are- the enemy’s tactics don’t stand. If you knew my story Dr. Tobin… a witness to what you speak and write on (I’ve heard your talk at Encounter!). Amazing work. I spoke of this exact same thing, loosening the grip of control, in our most recent podcast. Please have a listen, and check out our testimony at theabundantcatholic.com/testimony/
I hope to collab in some way! I know we are small fish, and no big name…. but the Lord raises the little ones and reduces the proud… he anoints the least expected. Our hearts are on 🔥and he has sent my husband and I out on mission. Our testimony of healing and God’s glory in it- is something to be shared. God bless you in all you do to help change the generations!

Praying for you, James. I can’t imagine that loss… grief is real, even if still connected in the Spirit!
Thank you, Dr. Sean!
God Bless,
Joe
